Kira Fuchs received her BA from Brown University and her Teaching Credential from California State University, Northridge. She has participated in Waldorf World Language Intensives and conferences with Master Waldorf teachers over the last decade and has attended the Waldorf Teachers’ Conference in Germany in addition to exploring mainstream techniques in world language instruction.
Having grown up in a bilingual German/English household, she has always loved languages and spent several years living abroad in Germany, Spain and Mexico. Before coming to Highland Hall she worked in television production, and taught in the LA Unified School District. In 2004 she was glad to find the gem that is Highland Hall.
Here she has taught both German and Spanish in the middle/upper grades. Currently she teaches the High School German classes, heads the language department and sponsors the class of 2016. She is always amazed by the many talents of the Highland Hall students and faculty, and is delighted to have her two children attend Highland Hall. Kira lives in Chatsworth and enjoys raising animals and vegetables, backcountry camping and just being outside.
