Students in the 3rd Grade studied shelters from around the world. Each chose and created one model shelter and presented what they had learned about that shelter to the class. In the Waldorf developmental curriculum, the third grader is seeking new independence. Students can develop a sense of self-reliance and confidence, with an ability to survive in the world in that new independence, if they know something about many types of shelters and understand what makes a shelter good and safe.
