The National German Exam is a standardized assessment given annually by the American Association of Teachers of German, and this year, over 15,200 students participated. 11th Grader, Lotus Opseth, won the Gold Award after scoring in the 96th percentile nationally on Level 3. Daniel Kruglov received an Achievement Award for his excellent performance on Level 2.
At Highland Hall Waldorf School we recognize the importance of teaching world languages starting in the elementary school. Mandarin Chinese is taught in Grades 1-9 as well as Spanish. German is taught starting in the 7th grade and through High School.
